Records (21 v., 1874-1894) of City Point Works, including journals, ledgers, account books, letterpress copybooks, payroll records, labor accounts, and other items; general business papers, including information for contract work on the U.S.S. MARBLEHEAD (Cruiser #11) and three sea-going tugboats and family papers relating to Bay Farm Co., the family estate and dairy farm in Island Creek, Mass.; and correspondence, printed testimony, transcripts, petitions, and other items (ca. 1902-1907) pertaining to the involvement of Harrison Loring, Jr., and his brothers in claims against the U.S. Navy totaling over $170,000 for monies owed in the construction of the monitor CANONICUS during the Civil War.
